The ATG Coach: Ben Clarfield

Today I had the pleasure of having one of my newest mentors Ben Clarfield come on the show today!

Ben and I met for the first time down in Clearwater FL for The ATG Expo about a month ago. Ben is one of three head coaches in The ATG Coaching System to have his Level 3 Certification. He helps Ben Patrick continue to develop The ATG Principles and is in charge of coaches the coaches underneath them which is where I come into play.

Ben Clarfield is one of my mentors who has been teaching my The ATG Principles; the principles I have been putting into place to rehab my knee after my major knee injury I sustained at the beginning of the year.

Ben Clarfield isn't your ordinary coach, he got his degree in philosophy and was on track to become a professor in a different world if it wasn't for his own knee injuries that happened at the time. Ben also tore ligaments in his knee, for him it was during basketball. And once he went down the rabbit hole of research in order to fix his knee, his educational interest changed slightly from philosophy to human movement, training, rehab, Chales Poliquin, exc. and his whole career path changed.

Now after being in the fitness industry as a coach for more than a decade Ben C. has partnered up with Ben P. to and today we sit down and talk about his journey as a coach over the last 10 years.

We go from topic to topic sporadically in this episode I'm not gonna lie haha but there's gems in here for people to learn from Ben!

We get into philosophy, our knee injuries, genetic potential in athletes and how training can maximize your potential, how intent determines whether your training is rehab/performance/aesthetics, hardware vs. software and so much more!!
